Abstract
The period between 1939 and 1978 is particularly relevant in Spain to the study of censorship in translation. The censorship records enable us to make an in-depth research of the factors affecting the production and publication of poetry. An important part of this paper is devoted to the analysis of the TRACEpi (1939-1978) catalogue, comprised of those poetry texts translated from English that passed through the filter of official censorship during that period, which will allow us to have a general view, not only of the practice of (self-)censorship in translation, but also of the publication of poetry, as well as of the translational norms of the aforementioned period.
