Abstract
Introduction: Quality of life (QoL) is conceptualized as a complex and constantly evolving concept. It involves an individual's perception within society in relation to goals, expectations, cultural context, norms, and concerns. Pregnancy represents a crucial stage filled with tensions that have the potential to influence women's quality of life. A growing trend of single-parent families is observed in Spain. Objective: The aim of this study is to analyze differences in quality of life between single/widowed women and married/cohabiting women. Results: A total of 291 women (81.1%) were married or cohabiting with their partner, while 68 participants (18.9%) reported being single or widowed. The average age of participants was 33.53 years (SD 4.80), with a range between 20 and 48 years. No statistically significant differences in quality of life were observed between the two groups. Conclusions: The marital status of pregnant women may not be a determining factor in their quality of life during the first trimester.
