Resumen
This abstract is devcted to the analysis of the castellanization process in the south of the Cantabrian Mountain Ragepaying special attention to Lleón during the Modern Age. To get to this aim, a corpus of original docurnents has been used as rnain source. This corpus shows a range of rnaterial goods (wills, dowry letters, inventories, partitions...) containing relevant lexical information. Taking this corpus as starting point 1 will be dealing with the grade of castellanization in sorne Leonese regions which have a dfferent resultas regards the historical change in the castellanization process not only taking into account the lexicalfleld but also the phonological and the rnorphologicalfields in an indirect way.
