Resumen
One of the aspects of Spanish grammar which raises more polemics is that of perifrasis verbales (verbal periphrases). This work is meant to approach this matter, starting from recent studies. Three main facts are studied here: (i) the determination of functional and formal criteria which guarantee the most possible exact identification of such a combination; ( ii) the halfway situations which are usually referred to and for which a type of specific terminology has been stated; and (iii) auxiliarity.
